Ingredients

4 serves
  1. 530 gall purpose flour
  2. 2 cupswarm water
  3. 1 tspsalt
  4. 1 pinchsugar
  5. 80 goil for frying

  1. 1

    In a big bowl, measure 500g of flour, then add in salt, a pinch of sugar and 4 tbsp of oil. Then mix well.

  2. 2

    Then start adding water while mixing. keep adding water until the dough softens. keep kneading the dough for five minutes while adding flour if neaded.

  3. 3

    Then transfer the dough on to a flat surface and continue kneading and adding flour when kneaded.for around 15 more minutes.

    Continue adding flour but it should be thick but not hard. DO NOT ALLOW IT TO BE HARD. if it becomes hard add alittle water.

    Then add around 2 tbsp of oil of the chapati dough and knead to mix it up untill it becomes soft and not sticky. Return the dough in the bowl and cover it for 30 minutes

  6. 6

    After 30 minutes, divide the dough in to around 8 to 12 equal parts making them ball like shapes. put the in a flat surface, you can put alittle flour in the surface to prevent it from sticking at the surface.

    Then take one ball and, with a rolling pi, roll the ball to a circular shape.

    Brush the circular chapati with oil on top and make sure at the sides there is oil too.

  9. 9

    Start folding and roling the oiled chapati with both hands as if you are roling a rode away from your direction. you will get a shape that looks like a rope, create a coil like shape.

    Make a coiled ball and with your palm, press the ball down to make it flat.

  11. 11

    Then using a rolling pin roll the dough into circular shape again. then put a heavy skillet over medium heat.

  12. 12

    In a hot pan, place the rolled out chapati and fry each side until its golden brown. repeat the same process for the remaining chapati balls

  13. 13

    Put it in a hot pot for 15 minutes and serve

  14. 14

    Serve with beef stew or any other stew.
