Ingredients

1 cupbutter (room temperature)
2 3/4 cupsugar
3 cupcake flour, (plain all-purpose works fine) measure after sifted
2 tspvanilla
1/4 tspsalt
6eggs, separated
1/4 tspbaking soda
8 ozsour cream (1/2 pint)

Preheat oven to 300°F

Grease and flour a tube pan

Cream butter until light and fluffy
4

Add sugar gradually and continue to cream until light and fluffy

Add vanilla and salt
6

Blend in egg yolks 1 at a time blending well after each addition
7

Add soda to sour cream and stir
8

Add flour and sour cream alternately, beginning and ending with flour
9

Fold in beaten egg whites
10

Pour into greased and floured tube pan
11

Bake at 300°F for 1 1/2 hours
