Ingredients

  1. 3/4 Cupsoaked washed and grounded moong dal
  2. 1Medium sized onion finely chopped
  3. 2Green chillies finely chopped
  4. 1 TspGinger garlic paste
  5. 1-2 TbspChoppred coriander leaves
  6. To TasteSalt
  7. 3/4 Cupoil for frying
  8. 1 TspTurmeric Powder
  9. 1 TspJeera
  10. 1/2 TspChilli Powder
  11. 1/2 TspDhaniya Powder
  12. 1/2-1 TspGaram Masala

    Heat Oil in wok.

  2. 2

    Add salt, coriander leaves, 1 finely chopped chilli in the grounded moong dal.(Can add finely chopped carrot and onion in the mixture to increase taste and nutrtion)

  3. 3

    With help of a spoon make balls of the above mixture and fry them.(Remove 1 Tsp of this mixture for the gravy)

  4. 4

    Drain excess oil on paper napkin and keep aside.

  5. 5

    Heat 1 Tbsp oil put jeera and let it crackle now add onion and chilli and saute for a minute. Add ginger-garlic paste.

  6. 6

    When onion is golden brown add haldi powder, chilli powder and dhaniya powder. Fry for a minute now add 1 Tsp of dal in 2 cups of water and pour into the pot, add salt and let it boil while stirring it occassionally.

  7. 7

    After boiling for 5 mins add fried ball into the gravy let it boil again for 3-4 mins. Switch off the heat.(Can change the consistency according to your taste)

  8. 8

    Add garam masala and coriander leaves. Serve hot with chapathi or rice.
