Ingredients

  • 1/2 cupkabuli chana (white chick peas), soaked overnight
  • to tastesalt
  • 2 tbsp.coriander leaves, chopped
  • 3-4cloves, garlic, chopped
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 1-2green chilies, chopped (opt)
  • 1 tbsp.dry roasted coriander-cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp.pepper powder (opt)
  • 1/2 tsp.red chilli powder (opt)
  • 1 pinchbaking soda
  • 2 tbsp.maida (plain flour)
  • 1 tsp.lime juice
  • oil to deep fry

Steps

  1. 1

    Blend together all the above mentioned ingredients (except oil) without adding any water.

    Make small equal size balls out of the dough & refrigerate for an hour.

    Heat oil in a pan and fry the falafels in batches in low flame till light golden brown in colour.

    Drain on a kitchen towel.

    Serve hot as a snack with hummus or with pita bread and salad.
