My mother made these all the time when I was younger (and she still does) winning all sorts of prizes at our town's fall fair and the love of every kid who ever played on a sports team with me, because you knew that at some point in the season she'd show up with the muffins, and they are fantastic!!

Cooking Instructions

Stir first 5 ingredients together in a large bowl. Make a well in the center

Combine next 5 ingredients in a medium bowl and pour into well
- 3
Add chocolate chips and stir until just moistened
- 4
Fill about 12 greased muffin cups 3/4 full
- 5
Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick pushed into the center of the muffin comes out clean.

Let stand for 5 minutes
