This is my first try at making these cookies. They turned out crispy around the edges and chewy on the inside. My family enjoyed them. The sea salt on top really gave a nice balanced taste to the already oh-so-sweet cookies! Happy trying!

Another ancient recipe from my Cajun side. My grandmother made her cookies and a sweet pie dough from this recipe. The pie made with this dough has a custard filling. It makes a 2 crust pie. But today, It’s a roll out cooky. They spelled it ‘cooky’ so I will too. It’s a basic recipe for sugar cookies, but add ins are endless. In this batch I added chocolate chips. They’re more like little sugar cooky cakes. Absolutely heavenly. The key to these turning out is to keep the dough ice cold.

I was trying to make a whoopie pie here lol. That was the experiment but although these are soft cookies and look like whoopies they're not quite spongy enough. Another experiment for another day lol! Great flavour and I'm still happy with how they came out
