Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 250 gboneless chicken (cut into small bite-size pieces)
  • as neededOil for frying
  • For the batter:
  • 1 tbspall-purpose flour
  • 2 tbspcorn flour
  • 1/4 tspchilli powder
  • Pinchpepper powder
  • 1/2 tbspgarlic & ginger paste
  • Pinchsalt
  • 1/2 tbspvinegar
  • 4-5 tbspwater
  • For the sauce:
  • 2 tbspvegetable oil
  • 8-10garlic finely chopped
  • 1large red onion diced
  • 5-6green chilies
  • 1 tbspginger finely chopped
  • 1 tbspchilli garlic sauce
  • 1large green pepper diced
  • 2 tbspsoya sauce
  • Pinchchilli powder (optional)
  • 1 tspcornflour mixed with 5 tbsp of water
  • as neededSome spring onions (For garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large bowl add the chicken, corn flour, plain flour, chilli powder, black pepper, ginger garlic paste, vinegar, salt and water.

    Mix well to coat all the pieces with the batter.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a wok and fry the chicken until it turns golden in colour. Remove the chicken and set aside.

  4. 4

    For sauce:
    Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over a medium heat.

  5. 5

    Add green chilli, garlic and ginger. Sauté it few seconds and add the red onions along with the green peppers. Sauté for 1-2minutes.

  6. 6

    Add the chilli garlic sauce, soya sauce and chilli powder. Add the cornflour water mix, cook for 2 mins on a low heat.

  7. 7

    Add the fried chicken pieces to the gravy, mix well and make sure to coat all the pieces with the sauce evenly.

  8. 8

    Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
