Heat oil and temper Cumin seeds and bay leaf along with green chillies

Add ginger paste and saute well till the raw smell disappears

Add desiccated coconut and saute

Add the daal and pour warm water and simmer till the daal is soft

Add sugar and mix well
- 6
Serve it with rice and fried vegetables
