BBQ Sloppy Joe’s
I made this on trick or treat night , it was perfect as we came and went . I kept it in the crockpot and the kids could just get it when they wanted.
You can make this on the stove top, crockpot, or instant pot. I had made it the instant pot but put it in my smaller crockpot on low. I will have to double this recipe next time I make it, that’s how big of a hit it was with my picky eaters kids.

Cooking Instructions

In a Medium skillet brown the ground beef (I used my instant pot.)

Once browned, add in in the onions, red pepper, and salt & pepper. Cook to you have onions and peppers soft or how you like them.

When soft mix in the BBQ, Ketchup, and water

Cook on low for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to combine, for stove top, or can do this in instant pot or crockpot times will very with them just cook it down.

Serve with cheese in hamburger buns.

Notes - this meal is so easy and can be cooked in 10mins.. you can use red or green pepper or both. I served this with French fries.

I had Sloppy Joes once when I was a kid, it was at my friend's house, and I wasn't into them. I remember it being really sweet, and gross. So, when I got the America's Test Kitchen cookbook a few years ago, I didn't even look at the recipe, but then I was curious as to what was actually in it. Upon reading the recipe, It seemed super simple and tasty....so I'm not sure what the problem was when I was a kid. Anyway, I tried the recipe with my family, and it's quick, super easy and delicious. It goes really well on the Soft Pretzel Buns. To keep the cooking to a minimum, serve it with a fresh garden salad.
