Mix the sugar and yeast in half a cup of warm water and let it activate.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, 1 tablespoon wheat bran, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and gradually add more warm water until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.

After the dough has risen, divide it into egg-sized balls and let them rise again for 15 minutes.

Roll out each ball individually on a surface dusted with wheat bran. Once all are rolled out, let them rise again for another 15 minutes.

Fold each round in half, then flip it over and let it rest until it puffs up and gets color on both sides.

Place the first round in a hot skillet over medium heat until it starts to puff up.
