Taouk Chicken

Diced chicken breast marinated in a classic Middle Eastern taouk mix that is cooked in the oven makes the perfect dish to serve up on all occasions. Goes great as part of a massive feast and just as great as part of my weekly lunches.
You can find pre-made Taouk spice mixes in some shops although it’s fairly uncommon in the UK so if you can’t find it then you can combine the ingredients listed under “Taouk Spice Mix:” yourself for the same results.
Taouk Chicken

Dice the chicken into cubes and place into a mixing bowl
- 2
Add the spice mix, olive oil and a squeeze of lemon and mix together ensuring that all of the chicken is evenly covered

Add the yoghurt and tomato purée then mix together
- 4
Leave to marinate for at least 15 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200c

Spread evenly into a roasting tin and place into the middle shelf of the oven for around 30-40 minutes (until most of the excess liquid evaporates)

Be sure to turn the chicken pieces during cooking

Serve up and enjoy as part of a delicious Lebanese feast or however else you like
