Saganoti #4WkChallenge

I learnt this recipe from Our Sisters in Tanzania. It is a Sweet and Salty snack and I must say, I can never get over that amazing combination of tastes.

Steps
- 1
Mix the yeast, a pinch of sugar, a pinch of plain flour and the ¼ cup of warm water. Leave the yeast to rise
- 2
Knead 2 cups flour, sugar, cardamom, coconut powder, warm milk and yeast mixture to form a smooth dough.
- 3
Let the dough rest in a warm place – preferably overnight or until double in size.
- 4
In another bowl, have Warm Water, add salt then 2 cups flour. Knead until well incorporated.
- 5
Taking turns, Roll out the 'Mahamri' dough then the 'chapati' dough. Superimpose the two on each other.
- 6
Cut into strips and roll up. As pictured. You can interchange how you lay the dough if you like.
- 7
Heat up your cooking oil and deep fry as you would, Mandazi. Drain, Cool and Enjoy.
