Ingredients

  • Potato
  • 1Sweet potato
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • 5-10cloves
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • Ceviche
  • 200 gfish e.g cod
  • 2limes
  • 1onion
  • 1/2red Chilli (adjust depending on heat preferences)
  • 1 tspginger (crushed or chopped)
  • 1 clovegarlic (crushed or chopped)
  • to tasteCoriander, salt and pepper
  • Condensed milk- if too acidic

Steps

  1. 1

    Peel the sweet potato and cut into chunks

  2. 2

    Boil the sweet potato chunks in a pan with the cinnamon, cloves and sugar until tender then leave to side (approx 25 minutes)

  3. 3

    Cut the fish into 10p pieces

  4. 4

    Mix the fish with the juice of the limes, the chopped onion and the other ingredients

  5. 5

    Leave to ‘cook’ in the acid for 10 minutes

  6. 6

    Taste and adjust seasoning. Add some condensed milk if acid is too strong

  7. 7

    Serve with the sweet potato and some corn
