This is a very popular Hyderabadi dish at Iftaar during Ramadan on a daily basis. A unique recipe that every fasting person relishes. It is healthy and a great choice for Iftaar time. This is the most loved one and an instant choice of my children and is therefore an everytime affair. The best part is that it is made effortlessly and requires simple pantry staples that are always handy in every Indian kitchen. The nutrients are aplenty too.

Steps
- 1
Soak the daal for about 2 hours. Pressure cook the daal using as minimal water as possible or simply boil it. The choice is yours.
- 2
If the daal has been soaked for more than the prescribed time, 2-3 whistles would be fine. However, if the daal has been soaked for lesser time, then about 5 whistles should do.
- 3
Make sure that the daal is still firm and not mushy. Put it in a dish and add salt, chilies, coriander and lemon juice. Mix gently till everything gets incorporated.
- 4
Serve it hot at Iftar time or just about anytime on any given day to relish it's awesome taste and aroma as well as the crunch.
