Basil sauce
One of the best and easiest sauces
Steps
- 1
Cut tomatoes in half and remove both the stem and the green part inside
- 2
Squeeze them in order to reduce water and remove the seeds.
- 3
Put them in a pot an cook them until they become a pulp.
- 4
Mince them with an immersion mixer (or a masher if you have it) and add salt, pepper and fresh basil.
- 5
ADVICES AND NOTES: If the tomatoes aren't very tasty, you can always make a soffritto with onion first (I did). You should make a lot of it and freeze it. I strongly advice fresh basil, this time ut's not the same.
