Ingredients

  1. 1 cupBesan
  2. 2 tablespoonspowdered sugar
  3. to tasteSalt
  4. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
  6. 1 pinchbaking soda
  7. 1 teaspoonginger paste
  8. 1 teaspoonchopped green chilli
  9. 2 tablespoonswhite oil
  10. 1 pinchasafoetida
  11. 4/5slit green chilli
  12. 10/12Curry leaves
  13. 1 teaspoonsugar
  14. 1 teaspoonmustard seeds

    Take a large mixing bowl add besan, turmeric powder, salt,sugar powder, chopped green chilli and ginger paste mix well

    Add water in the mixture and mix it so well that no lump can form.

    Then cover the mixture and rest 30 mins

  4. 4

    After 30 mins add hot oil, baking powder and baking soda mix well.

    Grease a microsafe bowl with oil.

    Now add this mixture to the bowl.

    Put it in microwave for 5 mins on high power.

    After 5 mins check with a spoon if it comes out dry then the dhokla is ready

    Now for preparing the syrup, heat oil in a pan

  10. 10

    Oil is hot add mustard seeds, asafoetida, slit green chilli and curry leaves

  11. 11

    Fry for few seconds on low flame

    Then add little bit of salt, ½ cup of water and sugar

  13. 13

    Mix and boil it

    Sugar is dissolved then switch off the flame and remove the syrup

  15. 15

    Cut dhoklas into a square shape with a knife

  16. 16

    Pour the syrup to the dhokla

  17. 17

    Cool and serve dhokla with any type of chutney.
