Winter means ‘Shorba’s halwa’s and nuts’, and just like in any other house, these are our winter treats in our house as well. Whenever winter used to come we would request our mom to cook halwas for us. And now after getting married everyone looks up to me to make these halwas. I learned this halwa from my mom who has magic in her hand. You will see the steps are very simple and easy. Every time I make I have to double the quantity, sometimes tripe it because everyone’s love it. They want to eat it the whole week.

Ingredients

8-10 servings
  • 3 KgShredded Carrots
  • 1.5 kgMilk
  • 1 Cupfresh cream
  • 1/2 cupraisins
  • 1/2 tspSaffron
  • To tastesugar
  • 1 cupAsli Ghee
  • 1 tspCardamom powder
  • 1 CupKhoya
  • Almonds for garnish

Steps

  1. 1

    Shred the carrots and boil with milk.

  2. 2

    When milk is about to get dry add raisins and fresh cream.

  3. 3

    Add sugar to taste and ghee. Now cook it until you get the desired colour.

  4. 4

    Now add saffron and khoya. Add cardamom powder and almonds for garnish.
