Purple Barley drink

anytoh
anytoh @HottoHKitchen

Nostalgic childhood drink make from pearl barley & a purple colour plant called Moses in a boat or Moses in the cradle.

My mum used to make this during hot weather.
We would pluck the leaves from the potted plants outside the house.

And I would be amazed how the purple leaves can turn the water into a nice purple tinge.

You can add a special purple cane too to achieve a more intense purple colour but I could not find it today.

I called it purple drink.
