This is a dessert which is very popular in any kind of celebration is a traditional recipe. Be it ganesh chaturthi or diwali this rava ladoo will make your celebration complete. It is easy to make and require very less ingredients. It's also tastes delicious.
Steps
- 1
In a karai, add ghee and let it melt completely. Add the cashew nuts, almonds, raisins finely chopped and roast till fragrant and light golden in colour. Once done remove it from karai. Keep aside for later use.
- 2
In the same karai, add more ghee and let it melt completely. Once it melt add the semolina. Roast the semolina in the ghee on low flame till it changes it's colour. It will take time(at least 15-20 mins). Do not increase the flame or else it will burn within a second which is not needed. Give enough time and roast it.
- 3
Once roasted and changes colour, sprinkle a dash of milk. Cover and cook for 2-3 mins. Repeat this process until the desired softness is acquired. To make this laddoo the semolina should be half cooked. The particles should not feel hard between the teeth. It should be partially soft and smooth.
- 4
Switch off the flame. Add the powdered sugar and mix well until the sugar has melted and incorporated in the semolina properly. You will notice that the semolina will turn a bit soggy and sticky.
- 5
Now take the semolina mixture in a plate. Spread it and cool it a bit to handle easily. Add ghee, green cardamom powder and the earlier roasted dry fruits. Mix well. Now add milk little at a time so that the mixtures comes together and you can give it a shape of a ladoo. Here the quantity of the milk is critical. Use it just as a binding agent.
- 6
Grease your palms with ghee. Take small amount of the mixture and give it shape of ladoo. Smoothen it by rounding between your palms. You can also stick half cashew nuts or raisin on top to give it an attractive look. Serve it in any festival.
