Wash the chicken and make 3-4 slits in each piece using a sharp knife. It will help the marinade penetrate well into the chicken.

Then in a bowl combine all the ingredients stated above to make a thick marinade.

Coat the chicken with the marinade well. Cover the bowl and refrigerate at least for 5-6 hours (the longer the better).

Heat a grill pan over a high flame. Reduce it to medium then. Add 1 tsp oil with 1 tsp butter and spread all over. Place the marinated chicken on it. Then cover and cook until done, do flip it once in between.

Serve hot with onion slices and lemon wedges.
