I have made innovative ukdiche modak with strawberry and blueberry flavored it's delicious and healthy too. Strawberry and blueberry Modak-The sweet filling inside a modak is made up of fresh strawberries and blueberries,fresh grated coconut and jaggery, while the soft shell is made from rice flour flavored with strawberry and blueberry . The dumpling can steamed. The steamed version, called ukdiche modak, is eaten hot with ghee.Make these tempting modak to offer Lord Ganesha.

Dry roast semolina and dry fruits till slightly golden colour then add some ghee at low to medium heat separately. Then, keep aside.

Clean strawberries and blueberry and grind it separately to make a puree. 1/4 portion keep a side both purée

Boil strawberry and blueberry puree along with jaggrey till puree gets thicker consistency. Add grated coconut and khoya in to it and mix. at low heat. Add roasted Semolina, dry fruits mix and freshly crushed cardamon and nutmeg powder. Mix and cook all ingredients till it gets thick consistency. Add pinch of salt and mix it well. Then keep aside and cool it

To make dough, Boil 1-1/2 cups of water along with salt and ghee at medium heat. Once comes to boil, add rice flour and maida in to boiling water and mix it using spatula. Turn off the heat. Cover and keep the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes. Then knead the dough using hand till dough gets soft and smooth

Divide the dough into three parts 1 st part mix puree of strawberry and 2nd part mix blueberry purée and keep aside. Now, take a modak molds grease with ghee, then lay the blueberry dough then the strawberry dough and the white dough in line with a thin layer in the modak mold, fill the prepared filling mixture in the middle. And turn off the dough.

Make all modaks following the same process. Keep it covered.
Prepare a steamer by heating water at medium heat. When steam starts coming out, place modak in the steaming pan and place it in steamer and cover it with lid. Let the modak steam cook for 10 to 15 minutes. - 7
Once it's done, remove it along with steamer pan and keep it aside and allow it to cool before taking out the modak from the pan. Pour some ghee on it.

Once it gets cold, take it out from the pan and place it in a serving plate garnish with some strawberry slices
Delicious strawberry and blueberry flavored modaks are ready.
