Steps
- 1
If you don't have ready-made ground rice, soak the rice after washing it well in water for 8 hours.
- 2
Drain the water for an hour, then grind and sift it well.
- 3
In a pot on the stove, fill half the pot with water and place a strainer on top.
- 4
In a deep dish, mix 2 cups of rice flour with salt and 1 cup of water, stirring well until it forms a paste-like consistency.
- 5
Place the dish on the strainer over the pot, cover with a cloth, and steam for 25 minutes.
- 6
In a dish, add sesame oil to the rice dough and let it cool slightly.
- 7
Knead the dough well, shape it into a cylinder, and cut it evenly.
- 8
Store in the freezer until ready to cook.
- 9
In a pan on the stove, add all the sauce ingredients with 2 cups of boiling water and let it boil. Then add the tteokbokki and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.

You can find a detailed video of the method on my YouTube channel, 'Ghadir's Recipes'.

You can add green onions or sesame seeds. Enjoy!
