Boil,peel and coarsely mashed potatoes, sprinkle some salt.mix well and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds. Then add skinned black grams.when it turns colour add onions and green chilies.

Once the onion starts to change colour add asafetida and curry leaves.then add mashed potatoes and mix well.

Now add all the powdered masalas and mix well. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook well until done.add water if needed.

Once the tomatoes are done add in the chopped coriander leaves.Mix well and serve.
