Steps

Cook the rice with water and salt till it becomes soft (not too soft)...soften the split chickpea with water and salt in cooker till two whistle...soften the potatoes also with all the masala(except biryani masala) and oil...

Fry the chopped onions in a kadhai and fry till it becomes golden brown...and keep it aside..

Then take a big sauce pan and put the rice in the bottom then put the soften split chickpea and soften potatoes...then again put the rice on top...

Now put some oil on top..then biryani masala, rose water, meetha atar, saffron colour mixed in milk then finally the fried onions...

Then cover the lid along with a cloth and cook it for 15mins on low flame...when you will open the lid nice smell will come... it means the khichra is cooked...
