Make the sugar dough first; sieve 2cups of flour with 1tsp cardamon, add sugar. Make a well at the centre and knead using one cup of water. Knead for 5-8mins or until the doughs is elastic. Cover with a damp cloth.

Repeat #1 but in place of sugar, use the salt.

Cover both doughs and place in a warm place to rise for about 25-30mins. (Mark the salt dough, I used different colored plates)

Place the sugar on top of the salt one and roll out flat then roll both into a roll tightly (like you would when making cinammon rolls).

Cut the above roll into your desired size. I used a string to achieve clean cuts. Meanwhile, heat the deep frying oil.

Fry till you achieve the desired color on both sides (2-3mins), I prefer mine to be light brown.

Remove from the oil and place on a wire rack to drain any excess oil.

Enjoy warm with a glass of milk or cold with hot tea.
