This mouthwatering combo of spicy shak, pau and salad belongs to South Gujarat. Here spiced potato sabji is served with simple dinner rolls and salad with buttermilk. This is one of the most favorite street food of mine from South Gujarat. Green chillies, spring onions and regular onions are served with this dish.

This mouthwatering combo of spicy shak, pau and salad belongs to South Gujarat. Here spiced potato sabji is served with simple dinner rolls and salad with buttermilk. This is one of the most favorite street food of mine from South Gujarat. Green chillies, spring onions and regular onions are served with this dish.
Steps

Wash and boil potatoes with required salt and water. Let it cool down. Peel the skin off and make pieces. keep other spices ready.

Make a paste of chillies, garlic and ginger. Add coriander seeds and crush coarsely.

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin mustard seeds and saute well. Now add asafoetida, turmeric curry leaves and crushed masala. Saute on slow flame for 30 seconds.

Add chopped potatoes. Add salt to taste. Mix well.

Mash few potato pieces with spatula. Add in 1/2 to 3/4 cup water. Mix well cover and cook for 3-4 mins on slow

When ready add lemon juice. Our shak is ready. Serve hot with Pau and salad and buttermilk.
