When you are tired by the same oily stuff daily in iftar, then make up this dish for having something light on stomach. Filled with protein and healthy carbohydrates, presenting lauki daal with white rice❤
Steps
- 1
Soak daal chana and daal moong for half an hour together.
- 2
Discard the water of pulses and add enough water in the pulses to get them cooked nicely.
- 3
Put the pulses with water on stove. Add to it ginger garlic paste and let it cook until 3/4th done. Remove the scum from pulses time to time.
- 4
Now add chopped tomatoes, bottle gourd and all the spices (salt, red chilli powder, kashmiri chilli powder, black pepper, roasted crushed cumin and turmeric). Let it cook until pulses and bottle gourd are tender. You can add more water if needed.
- 5
Once everything is tender, take a manual grinder (daal ghotnay wala tool) and crush the pulses a bit to get a coarse mixture of your pulses. Let it cook again for a minute while covered.
- 6
Prepare baghar : heat up oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, button red chillies, green chillies, finely minced garlic. Let it get golden and pour immediately over the pulses. Your yummy lauki chanay ki daal is ready ❤
- 7
Serve with kachumar salad, white boiled rice and kebabs of your choice.❤
