Mash the potatoes, add chopped green chilli, red onion, salt, red chilli powder, 2 teaspoons garam masala, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, coriander and spinach. Mix well.

In a bowl add gram flour, a pinch of salt, and 1 cup water. Stir well. Make sure there are no lumps. Check the consistency. It shouldn't be thick nor too runny.

Heat oil in a deep pot for frying. Make palm sized balls of the mashed potato mixture.

Dip the ball in the gram flour batter. Coat it well.

Drop it carefully in the hot oil to fry. It should turn into golden brown colour. Turn it to cook from all sides. It should look like this.

Serve it with spicy mint chutney, ketchup or tamarind chutney.
