Roasted makhana/ fox nuts

Makhanas are also known as fox nuts.
These are often used in few Indian sweets and snacks like kheer, raita or curries and are also eaten as an evening tea-time snack. Makhanas are light, crunchy and highly nutritious. I have roasted these makhanas in ghee and served with black salt and freshly crushed pepper sprinkled over it.

Steps
- 1
Heat 1/2 tbsp of ghee in a pan. Add makhanas into it and roast continuously for 3 minutes.
- 2
Now sprinkle salt, pepper powder, black salt and pour 1/2 tbsp ghee on makhanas so that spices get coated well with makhanas. Roast for 2 more minutes and take out in a plate. Let it cool down, then only it will become crunchy and then serve.
