Martabak
Simple martabak you can make at home.
Steps
- 1
Put flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, vanilla powder into a big bowl. Mix well
- 2
Add egg and pour milk little by little. Stir until the mixture is even. You can use automatic mixer or hand mixer if you don't have an automatic one. (hand mixer takes 10-30 minutes depends on you)
- 3
Cover the mixture and let it still for one hour to one and a half hours at room temperature. Make sure when you open it, the mixture has some bubbles on top.
- 4
Add baking soda, and mix well.
- 5
Heat up the pan, wait until it gets quite hot.
- 6
Divide the mixture into 2.
- 7
Set the heat to low. Pour the mixture into the pan, and rotate the pan so the mixture is kind of sticking onto the side of the pan.
- 8
Cover the pan with lid. Wait until the mixture gets quite bubbly.
- 9
When it gets a little bit bubbly, sprinkle sugar on top of the mixture. Sprinkle quite a generous amount of sugar, but not to much.
- 10
Cover the pan with lid, wait until the mixture is not sticky on the top.
- 11
When the mixture is not sticky anymore, put it on a cutting board.
- 12
Add butter, spread it. Pour enough condensed milk. Add your favorite topping.
- 13
Fold it in half and cut it.
- 14
Enjoy your simple martabak at home.
