Steamed Banana Cake (Bánh chuối hấp)
Steamed Banana Cake (Bánh chuối hấp)
Steps
- 1
Peel the bananas and briefly soak them in salted water. Remove and slice into rounds, then toss with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
- 2
Pour the entire package of banana cake steaming flour into a bowl with the bananas. Add 1 3/4 cups warm water (about 450 ml, or as directed on the package) and mix well. Add a little vanilla for aroma and 1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder for a nice yellow color.
- 3
Pour the mixture into a mold and steam for about 30–45 minutes, depending on the mold size. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick—if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
- 4
Simmer coconut milk with sugar to make a sauce. You can add sliced scallions if desired. Toast the sesame seeds to sprinkle on top when serving.
- 5
Enjoy making this simple yet delicious cake!
