Piaji

Piaja means onion in odisha. The main ingredient of this dish is onion so the name is PIAJI. Everyone might be thinking what is the difference between onion pakoda and piaji, then I will say the difference is the process of preparation.
Piaji is a famous street food of Odisha specially in my district with ghuguni ( yellow peas curry in odisha style).

Steps

Take a mixing bowl add all the ingredients mix them by adding little water. The mixture should be in thick consistency.

Heat the oil for frying. Make small ball out of the mixture and fry them in a high flame till it will convert to light brown.

Take them out. Take one flat base bowl. Press the fried onion ball to flatten using the bowl. Fry the flat onion pakoda again in a low - medium flame till it will cook completely and convert to brown. Take them out on a paper towel. Serve them hot.
