With two days off on the weekend and nowhere to go, I decided to stay home and bake to avoid going out 😁

Whisk together the egg yolks and egg whites, then strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve.

Mix the sweetened condensed milk with the whole milk in a saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the milk is just warm.

Gently combine the egg mixture with the milk mixture and the 3 1/2 tablespoons (50 ml) water. Stir gently to mix well, then strain the mixture again through a sieve.

Pour the mixture into small molds or ramekins.

Bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove, then reduce to a simmer. Place the molds in the pot for steaming (use a water bath).

Cover the pot after 5 minutes. Steam for about 15 minutes until the flan is set, then turn off the heat. Remove the molds, let them cool, and refrigerate. I skipped the caramel because I don't like it too sweet (and honestly, I couldn't get it right 😌). That's it! This simple recipe never lets me down~
