Ingredients

45 to 60mins
4 - 6 people
  1. 6-8 piecesmixed chicken portions
  2. 1Medium onion diced
  3. 2 clovescrushed garlic
  4. 3whole Star Aniseed @spicedup
  5. 2Cassia rounds @spicedup
  6. 1 tspTumeric @Spicedup
  7. 2 tbsproasted masala @Spicedup
  8. 1 tspcumin @Spicedup
  9. 1 tspgaram masala @Spicedup
  10. 1/2 tspginger powder @Spicedup
  11. 1 cupchicken stock or cube
  12. 1 cantinned diced tomotoe
  13. 4medium potatoes cubed
  14. 1 tspsugar optional
  15. 1/2 cupwater 100ml
  16. to tasteSalt and pepper
  17. 1/2 cupFresh diced Coriander
  18. Serve with basmati rice

Cooking Instructions

45 to 60mins

    Cut and trim chicken pieces

  2. 2

    Heat cooking oil add onions, crushed garlic, star aniseed, Cassia rounds till onions are soft and translucent

  3. 3

    Season the chicken with turmeric, roasted masala, cumin, garam masala, ginger.

    Add the chicken to the pot and cooked till brown

  4. 4

    Add the cubed or powder chicken stock, tinned diced tomatoes, water 100ml, 1/2 tsp sugar, salt ans pepper to taste.

    Add the cubed potatoes.

  6. 6

    Mix well and bring to a boil.

    Simmer for 45-60 mins, until the potatoes Are soft and the sauce has thickened
