The Best Orange Jam Recipe
This is delicious with literally anything and everything jam is good for. You can use this jam for thumbprint cookies, to stuff doughnuts(kindly try my doughnut recipe), for nappage, to spread on bread, etc.
Steps
- 1
Quarter and peel the oranges, getting as much white parts, rind and skin off. (Save the skins to use as orange zest.)
- 2
Then roughly chop the oranges, getting any seeds and more white parts out.
- 3
Pour in a blender and blend for a few seconds, just until the orange pieces are broken down and there are only a few lumps. Get out any more seeds and white parts.
- 4
Next, add in all the other ingredients. Give it a thorough mix and place it on a low heat.
- 5
Cook this on low heat(I can't stress this enough) for about 30 - 40 minutes, stirring frequently and standing close by as jam burns really fast.
- 6
After about 40 minutes, all the water should have evaporated and the mixture should have gained a jam like texture, if not, cook longer until the desired consistency is reached.
- 7
Let cool completely and store in airtight containers. Enjoy!
