Ingredients

30 minutes
Serves 5 servings
  1. 1.3 lbschicken (about 600 g)
  2. 1onion
  3. 3.5 ozbacon bits (about 100 g)
  4. Carrots (as desired)
  5. 3 tablespoonsheavy cream
  6. 1 cupwater (about 250 ml)
  7. 3bay leaves
  8. 1 bunchthyme
  9. White wine (optional)
  10. Salt and pepper
  11. Mushrooms

Steps

30 minutes

    Slice the chicken and sauté it.

  2. 2

    Add the onion and cook until softened. Add the bacon bits.

  3. 3

    Once everything is nicely browned, add the carrots and mushrooms.

  4. 4

    Deglaze with white wine. Add the water, then cook under pressure for 22 minutes. If using a regular pot, simmer on low heat until the sauce reduces.

  5. 5

    When done, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

  6. 6

    If the sauce is too thin, thicken it with a white roux or cornstarch.

  7. 7

    I served it with fries for myself and rice for my husband.
