Heat oil in a kadai. Add the chillies and saute till you get a nice aroma. Add the onions and cook till pinkish in colour. Now add the crushed garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the potatoes and the dry spices and salt. Mix well. Sprinkle some water and cook for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes add the kairi and the washed kardi. Mix well. Add the coriander leaves and tomato. Cover and let it cook in its own water till done.

Open the lid and give the kardi a good mix. Enjoy with steamed rice.
