Steps

Marinate the hilsa with mustard paste, poppy paste, turmeric powder, salt, green chillies and one tablespoon of mustard oil for 10-15 minutes.

Add the marinated hilsa in a kadhai and add another tablespoon of mustard oil and water.

Keep it on low flame and cover the lid for 10 minutes.

Serve it with steamed rice.
