Moong dal halwa

Wash moong dal. Soak it for 3 hrs. Grind it smoothly. Don't add water while grinding. If necessary add very little water.

Add ghee to kadhai. Add grinded moong dal to it and mix it.

After mixing switch on gas. Stir continuously and roast it. Roast it till it changes color, leaves sides of kadhai and it turns aromatic.

Keep 2 cups of water for boiling. From that keep 1 cup aside. Add sugar to remaining water and dissolve sugar in it. Then add this sugar syrup to roasted moong dal.

While adding sugar syrup stir continuously so there will not be lumps in halwa. Add remaining water as needed. Stir it well. Halwa will leave ghee from sides of kadhai. While serving garnish with chopped almonds.
