PULAO is very famous in Afgani, and Mughal cuisine..it can be make in many forms with veggies and without veggies or with some nuts..
Here in matar Pulao , Basmati rice cooked with green peas and whole spices like cardamom, cinnamon & cumin seeds. Matar Pulao makes a great main dish and goes well with any dal or curry (mirchi ka salan, or any veg gravy like butter paneer)or yogurt.

Ingredients

1 hr
4 people
  • 2 cupsrice(any) I used Basmati
  • 1 cupfrozen matar
  • 1big sliced onion
  • 1 tspjeera
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1 inchcinnamon stick
  • 1/4 pinchgaram masala (I used catch garam masala)
  • as requiredWater
  • 1 tspghee or oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Washed and Soaked rice 1 hr before cooking

  2. 2

    In a pan a heat ghee or oil splutter jeera, cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Add sliced onion saute for 3 mins

    Add soaked rice with green peas mix it properly.

    Add salt, water and garam masala and cooked..when it's half done cover with lid and cooked with own steam

    Water vaporized serve with gravy sabji or raita..taste is yummy 😋

    Note: I made this pulao on pot but you can made this on pressure cooker too with 3-4 whistles on medium to low heat.
