First put everything for yakhni in the pot with water and cook on slow flame approx 20-30 minutes.

Now strain the yakhni and keep aside chicken. Make sure you add enough water so that you have the proper amount of yakhni with you.

Now for Rice: Brown the Onion add whole spice's and ginger garlic paste saute properly.

Then add the cooked chicken saute a bit then add yogurt with salt, whole spice's powder bhoonofy properly.

Then add the soaked rice, black cumin seeds and yakhni and cook till rice cooked properly.

Put on dum for 10 minutes. serve with your choice of raita, salad.

Tip : You can always sprinkle brown onions while serving (my family doesn't like it so I don't do this)

Tip : The best ratio for water as in yakhni is for 1cup of rice we need 2 cups of yakhni.

Tip : Always use good quality basmati rice for yakhni pulao.
