Wash,clean and drain water of green onions.Separate the bulb and greens and chop them finely.Peel and cube the potatoes.

Boil potatoes till half done.Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and sprinkle five spices(kalonji,fennel,fenugreek, cumin, radhuni or ajmoda or wild celery seeds)and chopped red chillies.When they crackle, add the finely chopped white bulb of spring onion.Fry lightly.

Add the semi cooked potatoes and toss.Add the chopped spring onion greens and sprinkle a pinch of turmeric,salt to taste.A pinch of sugar may be added to balance the salty taste,but optional.

Toss all and cook for 2 minutes.Serve delicious green onion sabzi hot with roti,paratha or any Indian flatbread.It also can be served as a side dish with rice and dal.
