Ingredients

  • 100 gmstuvar dal
  • 150 mlwater
  • 1Onion finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1/2 tspJeera/cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tbsHing/asafoetida
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 tspRed chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1Green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 tspCoriander powder
  • 2 tspCoriander leaves for garnishing
  • 2 tbspDesi ghee
  • 1/2 tspGinger grated

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash tuvar daal properly and pour it in pressure cooker add water salt red chilli powder and turmeric powder and after 2 whistle turn off the stove.

  2. 2

    Take ghee in a pan when it get hot add hing and jeera. Now add onion and when onion turn golden brown add tomatoes ginger and coriander powder, turmeric powder 1/4 tbsp salt 1/4 tbsp and mix them well

  3. 3

    When masala left some ghee pour it in the daal serve it hot with chapaties and garnish it with coriander leaves
