Got some leftover stale bread or brioche? Nothing’s easier or tastier than French toast! And why not add a splash of rum for extra flavor?

In a dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla sugar.

Slice the bread into 3/4-inch thick pieces.

Let the slices soak in the egg and milk mixture until fully saturated.

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Once hot, add the butter. Before it browns, cook the soaked bread slices.

Flip them regularly until both sides are golden brown.

At the end of cooking or just before serving, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Serve hot.
