A Tasty Way to Eat Strawberries

I really enjoyed the strawberry parfait I had at a restaurant so I asked if there was any secret. They told me that the strawberries shouldn't be kept in the refrigerator and to add some sugar and let sit for a while.

Don't put strawberries in the refrigerator. After washing strawberries, add the sugar without patting dry with paper towels. There is no problem even if you let the strawberries sit more than one hour. If you use refrigerated strawberries, the aroma may not be as good but you still can enjoy the syrup. Recipe by Brandy

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1pack ☆Strawberries
  2. 1 tbsp☆Granulated sugar
  3. 250 mlSour cream yogurt, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream etc.
  4. Toppings (optional)
  5. 2 tspCoconut flakes
  6. 2 tspRoasted almond or your favorite nuts
  7. 1 tsp~ Lemon juice
  8. 1 tsp~ Kirsch/cointreau etc.

Steps

    Wash the strawberries and cut off the tops and cut into bite-size pieces. Lightly drain and place in a container. Add 1 tablespoon sugar and mix lightly. (Do not smash the strawberries. Let sit for at least 1 hour. Do not refrigerate.)

    After one hour, when the sugar is incorporated and the color is vivid, they're ready. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

    They are great as they are but they taste even better with sour cream, yogurt or whipped cream.

    This will turn not-so-sweet strawberries into delicious ones.
