Microwave Low-Sugar Strawberry Jam

cookpad.japan
cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp

This is my family's favorite strawberry jam that I have made for a long time.
For blueberry jam, refer to. My family likes to make it with light brown sugar. If using large strawberries, cut them up before microwaving.

Step 2: I used a 500 W microwave.
Step 3: It'll be a bit thin right after you make it, but once it cools, it will thicken, so don't over-heat.
This jam is low in sugar. If you are storing it for a long period of time, add 50% more sugar. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221

Steps

  1. 1

  2. 2

Put the strawberries in a deep heatproof dish and sprinkle sugar and lemon juice on top. Lightly wrap with plastic wrap and microwave for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Remove the plastic wrap, mix, and heat in the microwave uncovered for another 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it and once it becomes lumpy (after about 2-3 minutes), it's done.

  4. 4

Put it into a sterilized container and flip it upside down. Store in the refrigerator once cooled.
