Ingredients

30 - 40 mins
4 people
  • For the base (Beğendi)
  • 3eggplants
  • 2 cupsmilk
  • 1 tablespoonflour
  • 2 tablespoonsunflower seed oil
  • Halfa cup of grated Kaşar cheese
  • For the meatballs (Köfte)
  • 1 poundminced beef
  • 1egg
  • 1onion
  • 2 clovesgarlic
  • Halfa bunch of parsley
  • 2 tablespoonsbread crumbs
  • Salt
  • Blackpepper
  • Thyme
  • Chili flakes

Steps

30 - 40 mins
  1. 1

    Roast the eggplants on the oven.

  2. 2

    Peel the eggplants off and chop them as they are almost like a mashed potato.

  3. 3

    Roast the flour until its smell is gone and then add milk and stir until it boils.

  4. 4

    Add the eggplants and keep stirring for 5 minutes on low heat.

  5. 5

    Add Kaşar cheese and stir a bit and then turn the heat off.

  6. 6

    Grate the garlic and the onion, remove their water and add all ingredients of the meatballs to a bowl.

  7. 7

    Add 3 tablespoons of water and work the mixture well (10 mins at least)

  8. 8

    Shape the meatballs as you wish and bake at the preheated oven at 200 degrees until they are toasted.

  9. 9

    Place the Beğendi to the bottom of the plate and then place meatballs on top.

  10. 10

    You can also add heated butter with chili as dressing.
