Ingredients

30 minutes
3 to 4 servings
  • 20Baby potatoes
  • 1/4 cupBoiled peas
  • 2 tablespoonsCooking oil
  • 1 tspCumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoonsGinger garlic paste
  • 1 tspChilli powder
  • 1/2 tspGaram masala
  • 1 tspCoriander powder
  • 1/2 cupTomatoes Chopped
  • 1/2 cupOnions chopped
  • 2 tspLemon juice
  • 1 tablespoonButter
  • 1 cupWater
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 litrewater for boiling potatoes

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    First, wash the potatoes well and keep the skin on. Then take a saucepan and add water, salt and potatoes and keep covered on medium flame. Semi boil them for 15 minutes, strain, wash with clean water and let them cool.

    Then heat a kadhai/ wok. Add 1 tablespoon oil and add the potatoes. Saute' them for 5 minutes and keep aside.

    Heat the wok and add rest of the oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Then add ginger garlic paste and saute' well. Add onions and cook well while sauteing them till translucent.

    Then add tomatoes and spices and cook well. Then add 1/2 cup water and cover the pan. Cook till vegetables are soft. Then cool and grind to a paste.

    Then heat the wok again. Add the butter and add the paste. Adjust the seasoning. Add salt and masalas as per taste. Then add the potatoes, boiled peas, and mix well. Add 1/2 cup water or more if you want a flowing gravy. Cook with cover and a cloth covering the edges of the lid to keep the steam inside /or Dum on flame for next 10 minutes and then add lemon juice. Add a Sprinkle of garam masala and remove from heat.

    Serve garnished with coriander leaves and salad with rice or paratha. Enjoy.
