Uttapam is a type of dosa from South India. In Tamil Nadu it is known as Uthappam, in Karnataka it is known as Uttappa. In Kerala it is known as Oothappam In Tulu it is known as Ootappa or Ootappo. Unlike a typical dosa, which is crisp and crepe-like, uttapam is thicker, with toppings. Traditional a fermented rice batter is used for Uttapam.

Steps

Wash and Soak rice and dal for overnight

In morning drain rice and dal, grind it with ginger-garlic- chilli to make a fine paste.
Add very little water while grinding. We need idli batter like consistency. - 3
Finely Chopped all vegetables and keep them aside.

Whisk prepared batter for 2-3 minutes then add salt and eno powder. Mix well.

Heat nonstick pan. Grease with oil then pour 1&1/2 ladle batter onto the pan. Spread chopped vegetables over it. Keep the flame on low. Cook and cook for 2 minutes or till it looks cooked from the top. Spread few drops of oil over it and Flip the Uttapam, cover and cook for another a minute.

Similarly make all Uttapam. Serve hot with coconut chutney and green chutney. Enjoy 😊
