Onion Capsicum Masala

Onion Capsicum Masala Recipe. A quick, easy and unique but tasty vegetable recipe. Try making this recipe which needs just onion and capsicum to make this yummy dish. Gram flour is used to give it a creamy texture. You can use any oil to make this vegetable dish but if made with mustard oil then the taste of the dish will get enhanced. This dish is enjoyed best with roti, paratha etc.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add onion and green bell pepper bulbs. Saute it lightly. Remove on to a plate and set aside.

In the same kadai, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds and fenugreek seeds and allow to sizzle for few seconds.

Quickly add the chopped onions and saute till the onions are translucent.

Add turmeric powder and kashmiri red chilli powder. Saute it for a minute. Add ginger garlic paste and saute it well so that the masalas gives out a lovely color.

Now add the chopped tomatoes and salt and saute till the tomatoes are soft and mushy.

Add gram flour and saute well. Add sugar. Sugar helps to reduce the sourness of the tomatoes and curd.

Add coriander powder to the whipped curd and mix well.

Add this coriander-curd mixture and saute it well.

Add little water and cover and cook for a minute or two. Now add the fried onion and green bell pepper bulbs.

Saute for sometime. Then cover and cook till the onion and capsicum gets slightly cooked. Lastly, add some dried mint leaves and garam masala powder. Mix well and cover and cook on low flame for about 2 minutes.

Onion Capsicum Masala is ready. Serve it hot with roti, paratha etc.
